Work for Queensland Mining and Gas Jobs Expos

The Queensland Government, in partnership major resources industry employers, hosted a series of free one-day jobs expos. The purpose of these expos was to provide jobseekers with the opportunity to find out about the range of jobs and careers available in the resources sector in Queensland.

When and where will the expos held?

Due to the strong response received from the first round of Mining and Gas Jobs Expos, a second series of jobs expos were held in South East Queensland in early February 2012:

Who will be at the expos?

Major mining and gas industry employers were on hand to provide job seekers with information on: 

• current and upcoming job opportunities
• the range of jobs and careers available in the resources sector
• industry pay, conditions and lifestyle
• future job opportunities.

Resources sector training providers, including TAFE Queensland, were also at the expos to outline the training options available to pursue a career in the mining or gas industry.

Consultants from Skilling Solutions Queensland, the Queensland Government's training and career information service, provided free career advice. Skilling Solutions Queensland can work with you to identify how your existing skills can be formally recognised towards a relevant qualification and open up your career options.
